This feels too good to be true, even writing something on Barbie brings back my own childhood memories where my lady like sister used to play with Barbie and I with cars! I just cannot help making fun of the slim and sexy little toy my baby sister would so fondly dress up and take to her friends' doll parties. She would brush her hair, iron her clothes, fetch her bag, even shop for her ridiculously small things! Now, being a father of one, I can imagine how precious Barbie is to my little doll. Just recently I saw my own daughter watching barbie princess charm school on the television and I was fascinated by the firm grip the doll character has kept throughout our generations. My daughter had a similar twinkle in her eyes which compelled me to watch my sister's childhood passion; Barbie.
Simple rule of thumb, from a guy’s perspective, is that a girl adore Barbie as she makes Barbie her role model. Girls want to be like Barbie, smart, loving, sensitive, hot and center of attention! However, after watching Barbie Princess Charm School, I realized that there is more to the character than I gave credit to. Barbie, Blair Willows is not only a charmer but she is also a hard working and caring sister and daughter, who has joined Princess Charm School to support her family. Barbie is an honest and caring friend, who with the help of her roommates, Hadley and Isla, tries to save her school mates from the evil Dame Devin.
Barbie, at her core, is friendly, sensitive, composed, loving, caring and surprisingly common like any other girl. What makes her sparkle is her WILL to change for the better, her attitude towards life and how to make the best of it by changing and polishing her poise and etiquette.
Now, I can safely say that I know the real Barbie and would love my daughter to be like her. As a brother I never understood Barbie and my sister's weird fascination towards the doll but being a father has taught me the inspirational value Barbie holds in the eyes of her admirers.
