Learning how to rollerblade can be difficult because the wheels are so thin. The obese child may want to give up and go in the house since the child is not skating the way he or she wants to. As a parent, you may have to get involved and learn with them. Buy yourself a pair of rollerblades as well to make it a family thing. Children tend to mimic what they see there parents do.
For three days out of the week for an hour, go rollerblading with your obese child. You do not even have to go that far. You can rollerblade around your neighborhood or find a skate park. At a skate park, your child may befriend other skaters who may inspire hime or her to become a better skater, which will be good for the child. It will allow your child to get out of the house and rollerblade with other children their age.
Besides getting your child to be more active during the holidays, it is a good idea to change their eating habits as well. Stop taking the child to fast food restaurants and start cooking at home. Toss out all of the soft drinks and drink water. As a parent, in order for this to work, you will have to change along with your child. You may notice that by changing your diet and exercising, you and your child will start to feel better about yourselves. Your child will have more confidence because he or she will like the way they look. You will also notice the pounds shedding off of your obese child. As a parent, you will feel proud that you were able to help your child lose weight.
